The Computer Vision Centre (CVC) leader in the field of computer science in recognized research groups (SGR)

It is the only center CERCA in the area of Computer Science with consolidated groups and the second Catalan Institution in number of consolidated groups since 2011.

 

The Observatory of Research of the Institute of Catalan Studies has published the list of research centers and universities that have received grants from AGAUR SGR from 2001 to 2014.

The Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC) has published on the MERIDIÀ website, the statistical report “SGR aid” for research institutions and areas of knowledge MEC, which allows to see in detail the calls during the period 2001-2014. The CVC is the only center CERCA in the area of ​​Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence with consolidated groups. Regarding the Catalan organizations, the CVC ranks second after Pompeu Fabra University and is the first one obtaining funding for recognized groups in 2014. Overall since 2001, the CVC also takes this preferred position.

The CVC currently has six recognized groups, three with funding. Since 2001 It has obtained14 recognitions, and within the last 3 calls in which the most aid is been obtained, showing the consolidation of the center and the leadership of its researchers.

The purpose of the call is to support research groups in Catalonia working in different scientific areas, in order to recognize and promote quality research, knowledge transfer and internationalization of its activities.

The CVC, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, is responsible for the generation of cutting-edge research in computer vision, as well as the valuation and technology transfer. At this time the center has positioned itself as a specialist in the field of computer vision and is considered a leader in the creation of knowledge for the society.

Research groups recognized by the Generalitat of Catalonia in 2014 are: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS); Color In Context (CIC); Document Analysis Group (DAG); Machine Learning and Perception Team (LAMP); Interactive Augmented Machine Vision (IAMV) Image Sequence Evaluation (ISE).
