Some of the main arguments put forward for discussion by those attending the second “Cafè amb la Recerca” held at the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) last September 15 organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) with the Department of Agriculture of the Catalan Government were the optimizing cooperation between research centers and companies and the urgency of promoting greater awareness of the benefits of innovation by SMEs.

The “Cafè amb la Recerca” are informal meetings between Catalan research centers and companies, with a format of laid-back discussions in a close and friendly environment. The goal is to find ways of mutual cooperation.

The event began with a brief presentation by the Foundation and by Mr. Joan Girona, Director General for Food, Quality and Food Industry. Then there was a presentation of the research developed at the CVC, in this case focused on the sectors of the food industry, by the director of the center, Dr.Josep Lladós, followed by a debate. The meetings of the “Cafè amb la Recerca” are part of the Science-Business FCRI Program, which seeks to align innovation challenges of companies productive scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs who have the best skills to solve them.
